EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITES

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Discovery activities and hands-on workshops for school groups from kindergarten to secondary school, related to temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection.

Reservations necessary.

TOURS ON THURSDAYS AND SUNDAYS

Tours of the Museum’s exhibition galleries conducted by a guide.
Duration of tour: 60 minutes.
Free activity offered to individuals and families, no reservation necessary.

Thursdays and Sundays from July 3 to August 30, 2008, 2 pm.

FREE ART WORKSHOPS WITH LIVE MODELS

A summer weekend of drawing, painting and modelling workshops with live models.The workshops are offered to professional and amateur artists from the Lanaudière region. Easels and drawing boards provided. Participants must bring their own materials: paper, canvas, pencils, paint, brushes, clay, etc. Registration: ghyslaine.beaufort@sympatico.ca or 450 759-1831.

BOBBIN LACE

INTRODUCTION TO THE HISTORY OF VISUAL ART IN QUEBEC AND CANADA, PART III
Modernism, 1940 to 1968

Official launch of the book Les tableaux d’Ozias Leduc à la Cathédrale Saint- Charles-Borromée de Joliette:1892-1894 by writer and art historian Micheline Sénécal. FESTIVAL DE PHOTOGRAPHIES CONTEMPORAINES DU PAYSAGE

360 degrés invites you to the MAJ on July 1, 2008 to the official opening of the Festival de photographies contemporaines du paysage.These works of art will be presented throughout the festival and will be displayed on the exterior walls of various buildings in downtown Joliette until September 28, 2008. This festival aims to promote regional, national and international research and artistic achievement in the field of contemporary landscape photography and to raise its profile. OUTDOOR EXHIBITION

On the site of the Festival de Lanaudière along the paths leading to the amphitheatre, Something Going on Above my Head is a sound installation by the Colombian-born artist Oswaldo Macià. Presented in collaboration with the Festival on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Olivier Messiaen, this sculpture in sound offers a unique opportunity to hear, all in one place, the songs, twittering, warbling, chirrups and hoots of birds that could never be found all together in reality.
